We like to meet prior to commitment with projects to discuss the brief and vision for the project. Whether it is residential, commercial or retail we like to engage one on one to understand the requirements, budget, scope of works in order to create a fee proposal for the design. Our focus is to inspire our clients with a finished project that goes beyond their expectations and enhances their lifestyle.

We create a vision mood board using inspiration and conceptual imagery to put together a vision for your project. This provides detail of the overall look, aesthetics, textures, materials and colours we visualise for the project. We require client feedback to ensure we are creating a project of their vision and we will continue to work on the mood board until it’s at the client’s desire.

Planning is an important stage that requires time to arrange the space, ensuring it’s designed best for the user. For residential this includes understanding the home-owners desires, from removing or adding walls to create open spaces, kitchen appliance layout, sizes and proportions of items. In some instances, we suggest re-arranging the bathroom layout to improve use of space and check all fittings have been accounted for. For commercial and retail we focus on multiple users, tasks, daily duties, consumer needs and wants.

Once the concept planning phase has been undertaken, we complete an overall design with options. This covers all phases from design intent, customisation and individualisation for each project. Our plans will be drawn in scaled 2D plans with supporting 3D renders to finalise design direction. This stage details that the concepts are applicable and achievable with dimensions, cabinetry detailing, electrical, plumbing notations and more.

Spatial Studio’s knowledge of local and international product provides the basis for overall aesthetic on all projects, with initial selections presented with the visual mood board at the beginning of the project. We have a high understanding of joinery and custom furniture materials and their functions of practicality versus beauty. Our FF&E schedules relate to the plans through keys and codes to ensure understanding by client, builder and other trades / suppliers.

Our knowledge in space planning, interior design and custom joinery across many sectors provides a high end finished design with our clients and builders with whom we work. We have high expectations for the built details and finished project. Spatial Studio ensures each project is documented to a high level of detail through drawing and related schedules, aiding the tender and construction process.
